Money Play. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

Clearly, Red must double. There are a lot of gammons to be won here and it is difficult for White to construct a winning game plan. Meanwhile entering rolls such as 26 and 24 will do him no favours.

The take decision is right on the borderline – your equity will be the same whichever decision you make. Partly the decision should be based on your assessments of Red’s skills. If he is likely to make mistakes in a position like this then that gives you more leeway to take, always assuming, of course, that you will play perfectly!
