Match Play. Red trails 1-5 to 7. Should Red double? If doubled should White take?

This would be a ludicrous double for money, but the match score makes it perfectly valid because of the match score. If Red loses this game then he will trail 1-6 (Crawford), assuming he loses a single game, with only 10% match-winning chances. However, if he wins a gammon, he will tie the match at 5-5.

The reward is worth the risk. Not doubling here is an error. Dropping the double is worse than an octuple blunder – Red has a great deal of work to do bring this position home even if he starts with a 63!
