Red should not double this position but that is because he is too good to double. He is ahead in race, threat and position so White should be dropping very quickly if he is given the chance to do so. A gammon loss with the cube on 2 would spell the end of the match for White.
Red can afford to take a roll here and he can keep the cube in reserve for later if his gammon chances recede. Even at 0-0 he should play on.
