Money Play. How should Red play 21?

Obviously Red must hit or he will be attacked himself so 13/11* is clear for the 2. He can minimise blots by 11/10 or 7/6 with the 1.

However, Red owns the cube and can use it to powerful effect if White fans. After 13/12, 13/11* followed by a fan by White, Red will redouble and White has the skinniest of takes. After either of the other plays White has a much easier take.

Note also that 13/12, 13/11* beautifully triplicates White’s 2s and even his 52 is duplicated. The bottom line is that Red needs his bar-point so he should leave it slotted.
