• 2018 - Position 27

Money Play. How should Red play 43?

The key to this position is the blot on White's 11-pt. Without that to aim at Red will struggle to win going forwards - he would then have to settle for 7/3, 6/3. However, the blot gives him that possibility.

The correct move is 23/20 (so he can hit the blot on the 14-pt without giving up the 20-pt), 6/2*. Depending upon White's roll he can then decide whether to go forwards or backwards.

12/9, 6/2*, going for the full-blooded blitz is also perfectly reasonable.

hitting white on the 2pt is clear. With the three I see two good choices. Either 12/9 or 23/20. Given that those two back checkers are stuck, I'd move one up to the 20pt. 6/2, 23/20.

      6/2*, 8/5. Perhaps a bit old fashioned.

well the 2 pt hit isn't clear to me but am maybe missing the theme here. have had 2 inner board blots and 1 so far so I'll try the zero option 7/3, 6/3 :-)

      I like Leo's play here.
